ICS M4 Hop issue

hi guys this will sound stupid but in a little perdiciment, iv got a new m4, but the hop seems to make no differance to the shot. when the edjection port is open do i turn the wheel up for more hop or down, any suggestions whats wrong with it.

more hop is down
turn it all the way down. does the bb have absolutely no range? then the hop works :L- then just slowly turn the wheel up until you find the right setting

well if i put it all the way up, it doesnt exactly fly upwards

it shouldn't be firing like... very well at all when the hop is set all the way up (which is all the way down on the wheel). With my old ics m4, with the hop all the way up on .2g s the range was literally about 3 metres because there was way too much hop I guess :P
