1911s again
23 September, 2010, 01:06
I am looking at a TM 1911 and would like to know if the magazines are interchangable between the basic 1911A1 and the meu versions.
Also, what gas should I be using in a TM 1911? can you uprate for winter use?

Re: 1911s again
Last winter, I used Green in my stock TM M1911A1 - no upgrades at all.
In warmer weather, I use Ultra to give it a chance to last longer.

Re: 1911s again
As far as I am aware they are interchangeable yes.
I use propane for winter.. Does the job perfectly, you wouldnt notice any difference from green in summer and propane in winter.

Re: 1911s again
TM 1911a1 and TM 1911 M.E.U mags are the same, other than an MEU one has an extended bit at the bottom.
The detonics mags are however not interchangeable.

Re: 1911s again
The only difference between the MEU and the 1911 mags is the longer foot to the mag (and MEU mags are a chrome finish).
The Detonics will take 1911/MEU mags but the detonics mags are too short to fit in the 1911/MEU

Re: 1911s again
Thats very interesting I may have to get one of them then, I reckon they would look awesome with an 'extended' mag

Re: 1911s again
For pistol only games, I'll go out with a Detonics and a few mags, but take 2 1911 mags in case things get a bit hairy!
It sticks out exactly 1" and looks pretty sweet - Can get a pic up if your interested.
