dual weilding, mac 10, scorp, mp7 or mp5k
13 October, 2010, 09:26
I'm really after an electric smg I can use with one hand much like a pistol for indoor games but having a tough time deciding. I'm not after anything gas as can't be doing with buying gas and looking after mag seals etc.
I've not played with any of these guns but I'm thinking an mp7 or mac 10 would have better balance due to the grip being central. I'm just after some opinions to help me decide
Cheers

I'd go with the TM MP5K. V3 gearboxed AEG so will readily accept upgrades

TM Mac 10 is the schizz mate. i have one, have bought and sold on 3 to others at my site and if one comes up i will go for it
that are awesome
3 inch barrel and the hop is so good you can out range many aegs
we fit tracers insid the silencer for night games - :D
480 rounds in a hi cap so ideal for weilding with something else

Re: dual weilding, mac 10, scorp, mp7 or mp5k
I would like a mac 10 to be honest but the things putting me off abit is the price, and with other tm aeps compared to a mp5k. The ca ones arnd 200 whereas the mac 10 is about 230 from z1
what's holding the mac 10 like? I read a review and the owner complained a lot about it being uncomfortable to use hold and about the trigger guard rubbing against his middle finger lol

Re: dual weilding, mac 10, scorp, mp7 or mp5k
its quite a big grip and i have small hands but i have no problem with it
i wear gloves and get no rubbing trouble
its light and easy to weild
i have used mine with a gbb pistol in the other hand but prefer to use it on its own
at my site you will always see them in use
some night games are a real mac fest
the only down side i have found is you need to keep it well lubed and use quality bb's so you do need to look after it - but that should be the same for any weapon really
if you are ever at Xsite - you are welcome to try mine

Re: dual weilding, mac 10, scorp, mp7 or mp5k
that's nice of you to offer cgbully but live in lincolnshire so abit far to travel. Are there any other issues with it other than picky about bb's n abit of lube now and then?
Also do you know what its like for size compared to an mp7?
Cheers mate

Re: dual weilding, mac 10, scorp, mp7 or mp5k
other issues - hmmmm
well it takes a 7.2v battery which i have 2 spares as they do die
the standard charger it comes with is rubbish but thats standart with anything really
i had a tamia connector fitted to the adapter and charch with my normal charger so no issues there, i take it to games too incase i need a recharge
3 batteries will do a day generally or a cold evening
you can tell by the sound of the gun that the battery is going and i tend to change more often than needed
attaching a sling takes a bit of work as the obvious place it the stock which slides out
you can screw into the body and attach a sling ring if you know what you are doing
basically all the downs are very minor
i love mine and for the money its worth every penny. it was a prezzie from the wife so kind of special too
look for a second hand one
there are a few about but you need to be fast to get ther before me - :D

I'd go the MP5K route as well. Not only is it a common gearbox it takes a common battery too,
Probably not the TM one though as buying two TMs will be quite expensive and the Galaxy ones are just as good.
Failing that there's also the CA sport line ones.

Cyma MP5K's are also starting to filter back into retailers, might be worth keeping an eye out for one or 2 of those.
Mac 10's personally I'd only look at GBB versions, they're so much fun I find myself rattling off a 50rd mag through my co2 one just for the sake of it.

GBB is fun but above stated not what he is after
i too love GBB
galaxy mp5k will indeed do the job on a budget
i have had one myself
still mac 10 takes the cake and is worth every penny

Re: dual weilding, mac 10, scorp, mp7 or mp5k
dunno the aep gearbox is pretty upgradeable with all the eagle 6 and laylax stuff. I'm assuming the mac 10 is the aep gearbox. both that and the mp7 could be simply upgraded with lipo battery, eagle 6 spring for significant performance increase. I've seen a mosfetted mp7 running off lipo and it was very nice

Nothing you can't do with the MP5K though, and other upgrades such as TB barrels are much more readily available
