  • GBB pistol - suggestions?

hi all i've been looking for a replacement for my current backup, my army R17. my budget is around £120 but i could stretch to £140 if i have to. i'm verging towards buying myself a KWA M9 PTP, but i've also considered a TM M92f and the TM 5-7. Metal isn't particularly important but its always nice to have. I'm open to all suggestions, thanks

Personaly ive not owned any of the pistols mentioned but i can see how this is going even as im the first poster.
Somehow you dont even have to mention those 2 famous letters and yet im willing to bet 90% of your answers will be TM.
And my opinion an M9 of any form, or something different and not seen very often.

My advice, as always on the multitude of these threads, is pretty much any TM you fancy and you can't go wrong

          Glock 18C.

            Get the TM FN-5.7

Seriously though, they are AMAZING. I have one and Ive never been happier with a gun. Just make sure you get one in black, the new FDE and FG ones are HIDEOUS, absolutely atrocious to look at, theyre vile disgusting creatures, worse than a hicappa. Its blasphemy and should be punished by immediate on the spot stoning to death.

            Pros:

Very ergonomic, feels lovely to hold and fits your hand perfectly.

Huge mag, on par with the desert eagle so it holds a LOT of gas, 1 fill will empty about 3 mags.

Unlike the desert eagle it doesnt have a slide the same size and wieght of a small car, so its very economic with gas useage.

Very accurate (for pistol ranges anyway) and has the usual TM magic hop, which is adjustable too, bonus!

            Very crisp kick

            Sounds awesome too

Good power for a pistol, about 280fps on ultra

It has a dual-layered reinforced polymer slide, so it will happily take green gas without problem, I run mine on abbey ultra just to be safe, unless its a VERY cold day

Which brings me to my next point, does not suffer from cooldown, at all, even a little bit. Mine has worked all year round happily where other guns struggle. To put it in comparison. One game a few weeks back I used my 5.7, a TM P226, and a TM Deagle with metal bodykit. The Deagle was pathetic, fired one shot and proceeded to vent all the gas, the 226 wasnt much betteer, about 10 shots and it vented. The 5.7 however didnt even faulter once. Emptied the whole mag and then some.

            Cons:

Theyre a marmite gun when it comes to physical appearance, you either love how it looks or hate it, I love it. It looks like a futuristic bastard lovechild of a glock, M9 and 1911.

It can be a little difficult to find spare parts as its not a very common gun, however theyre out there if you look.

            ...

Thats about it for cons really.

So in summary, yes, they really are that good.

Wouldn't recommend TM the way I'm feeling about mine at the moment...

                What happened?

I was very annoyed when my Glock 26 exploded on Abbey Ultra, but all my other have pretty much only failed when I have messed about with them!

Surprised no-one's mentioned WE tech yet?

My WE 1911c is full metal, weighs in like real steel, seen a fair few extras for it (got some snazzy wood grips coming for Crimbo! :p)

It fires like a dream and the recoil is nice. But TM have all the trades. I owned a TM M92f, and it was a little gas thirsty but also worked brilliantly, one of the best ranged pistols I've used!

But I've heard horror stories about people using green gas in plastic slide TM gas pistols, in the summer. Many black eyes, seen a few too.

Btw, the 1911 cost me £110 off here with 4 non leaky mags.

Simply because there are so many threads about stopping them jam and so on. TMs are a great bet, but their older models aren't Green Gas friendly. Their newer ones, from the TM 1911 onwards, are pretty safe to use with green.

For the stated budget, money would be far better spent on the TM, especially as a lot of WE pistols are metal, and will just not work at all this time of year.

                              All of them are

But yes, WEs aren't as cheap as they used to be, and just not as precise as a Japanese pistol feels.
