What Type PBS Of Silencer For AK74???

Yo, I cant find any info on what kind of silencer an AK74 uses. Is there one? I know that the PBS-1 is 7.62, therefore used with the AK47 AKM ect, I love the PBS-4, but all I hear is that its only for use with the AKS 74U?????? Any airsofts versions availible?

ak74 never had a official supressor issued with the rifle.
only the akm and the aks74u had supressors issued with them

So could you use a PBS-4 off a aks74u on an AK74 considering theyre both 5.45? Or wouldnt that ever happen?

The AKS-74UB ("B"—Besshumniy) is a sound-suppressed variant of the AKS-74U adapted for use with the PBS-4 suppressor (used in combination with subsonic 5.45x39mm US ammunition). Very little is known about this model.

Go for a PBS4 type suppressor for a correct look. Failing that, PBS-1 would be your next best bet, aesthetically.

its for a full size 74 therefore higher pressure by 150 M/S
so a m16 gemtech would be better

Very true, but I'd imagine it would still reduce the noise somewhat. If we're gonna go by real world practicality, I'm not even sure a 5.56 suppressor would fit on a 74.

Still, a valid point. I'm trying to hunt down some pictures or info about 74 suppressors, but I imagine the operators who would need a suppressor would probably use a specialised variant such as the 74U or the Bizon.

The reason the PBS-1 was developed was for the retrospective need given the only weapon at the time was the 47 and the AKM.

If we were going exclusively by aesthetic value alone, however, PBS-1 by a long shot. Looks a lot more... Russian.

Sorry for the double post, after some strenuous Googling, I found this image of an AK-74 with what is dubbed as a "PBS-5" suppressor.



I'm not 100% sure if it's a real rifle, but I did get it from a military gear forum. Take it with a pinch of salt, but see what you think.

the pb5 has extra baffles in it for use with the 74 or hot ammo but is not a russian issue supressor.
just get what you like the look of. doesn't matter what everyone else thinks.
for example i like the pbs-2 mini supressor on my 74su but it looks daft on my 74. just one thing the pbs 1-4 are increadibly heavy and will really upset the ballencwe of your rifle

Id go for the PBS-1, it looks a lot better, and probably wont add too much weight to the front of your gun!

I had an element Silencer on my Cyma AK, and while not silencing, it, definately changed the noise of the rifle! More of a dull thudding and less of a clanging when it goes off.

my pbs 1 came in at 874g
it was incredably heavy and really changed the balance of the weapon
