  • BFG rules

Just a quick question about the rules when using BFG's.

    - In play are they considered a live grenade and have an estimated kill radius.
    - Or are they just to make a big bang and scare the opposing players?

I cant decide whether it is worth getting one.

    Thoughts?

    Re: BFG rules

I think most sites have a radius on BFGs...

I cant remember the radius for GZW but I think its 1.5m. Someone feel free to correct me if needs be. There can often be rules for urban / buildings etc where if you are in the same room as it, you die.. rather than a radius.

Personally, I like having one. Its more of a just in case kind of weapon though... But when you do find the right situation to use one, its almost always worth it.

At my site, if your within 5 meters of a BFG, or any other pyro you'r off to the dead zone. But even if your site is different, it's still worth getting one they are very loud!

use 9mm blanks! 12 gauge are dangerous in confined spaces and can cause nausea + more

12g should NOT be used indoors because they are VERY frikken loud! I'd hate to have one thrown at me outside let alone indoors.

Well, you're not supposed to throw them at ppl but I know what you mean.

Is the 12g louder than a milspec thunderflash? I can't see it somehow and they're used indoors.

Maybe, but I suspect that would be for prolonged periods.

Just out of curiosity has anyone brought a new Dynatech BFG recently and still have the operations manual for it? If so can you have a flick through and see if it still says you should not throw it towards anyone and it shouldn’t be let off closer than 3 meters to some one.
