sling for a ricas
25 February, 2011, 15:24
Hey, looking for some help with a sling whilst using my ricas, i currently have a 1point bungee sling, which i love, but it just gets in the way of all the pouches i have etc.
Now i have seen some people thread the sling through the shoulder straps on the vest, but this would put the gun at the center of my body, again getting in the way...
So, what's the best type of sling i can use whilst wearing my ricas? I thought maybe just a small clip, which could go through a molle loop, and so i can easily just clip it on and unclip it when i need, but if i did this, i don't think i could have the gun slung around me whilst shooting, it would just be for whilst moving, which i suppose would be ok... where can i get these from (if anyone understands what i am talking about?
)
Anyway, if someone can suggest any other ways that would be great, cheers!

So, is that image you just linked, how the strike sling would come? it looks different, alot different... on the images from the store, it shows the sling is attached via a T-shaped piece of material? And on the hook where it attaches to the gun, there is a big red strip of material, for height adjustment i think?

No, that's not the Blackhawk Strike you're talking about; you're talking about the Chalker (which am rubbish IMO).

I simply take a one point off the buckles on one side loop it around the handle on the back and then thread it through pouches but i only have a holster/admin pouch on my best and mag pouches around my waist

Can't mention UK retailers here other than Zero One but they don't really sell a lot of real steel gear. If you Google it you should find them.
Yes, very adjustable - I swear by them.

Yeh, once i found out the proper name, found pleanty of them, decent price, though £30 is abit much for a sling, guess it would be worth giving it a try though as it is pretty much what i am looking for.
Thanks for the help mate

Of course, if you're after a Chalker you could just buy this one:
