  • Leather Vs. Kydex?

I'm undecided about whether to go Kydex or leather for my M.E.U.
I was thinking Fobus possibly for the kydex or just a bog standard leather 1911 thumb brake. They are about the same price, and will go for both my blackwater loadout and CQC loadout. I use a duty belt in my CQC loadout if that makes any difference. Also before anyone mention Serpa's, I cannot afford them.

I was wondering what people think would look better and also if anyone has had experience with Fobus as far as holster wear or leather for holster wear .

    Thanks in advance

Fobus holsters are great. The Roto series of holsters work really well with good passive retention, in fact some of the more modern ones even have adjustable retention. I have used them almost exclusively for the last 7 years.

That said, when i am skirmishing in a suit (i do do it occasionally) i have a Leather Falco holset which looks the part with it's thumb break but the Fobus is easier to draw from.
