  • a really noobish question.

but hey ho i am a noob!

as of yet the times i have been airsofting it has been gloriously sunny. but im just wondering. in winter/ the rainny days. do people still skirmish? because of the rifles being electric and all. or do you have to get them waterproofed? what happens?

Hey, this is Britain, if we didn't play in the wet, we'd never play.

Personally, I just slip the battery into a plastic bag before fitting it. Either that or use a gas gun.

we usually play come rain wind or snow! but fi you dont want to, then thats your prerogative!

The guns are actualy remarkable water proof, mayb not to submersion but def to rain! just so long as you clean the barrel in between games, and take tissue for your goggles its fine!

i dont mind getting wet, have to put up with it all day at work so i get used to it lol (joys of being a carpenter). so if the battery was in like a solid stock or a crane stock then you got no problems really?

Well i know for a Fact that the JLS FN2000 doesn't take too kindly to water. It messed up for about a week until i fixed it.

Should be fine. I was skirmishing with a Kart EBR, it started raining quite heavily and we just kept on going, if you know what an EBR looks like, the battery doesn't have much protection from the rain . Had no problems whatsoever, so unless you have some frayed wires, you should be fine.

Best day of airsoft I ever had was in the rain :D Made the day feel much more fun. That and seeing who would come back with the most mud on them

I've played in torrential rain, down at Combat Action Games (Norwich). Was pretty fun, everyone had BDUs at the time. So it felt a *bit* like Vietnam.

Played in the snow as well, in fact many times at Gunman (Tuddenham).

As for submerged AEGs, on militaryphotos, there's a thread by an airsofter who went "full recon" in a river; SEALs style. I dunno if he had a battery installed, but he did say it worked fine afterwards. I'm trying to find it, but it was a long time ago.

                              FryFubar,

I know what you mean that photo, we recently when river-crossing at AWA Herts, water up to arm-pits, guns held just out of the water. Airsoft at its best, hardcore
