KWA M1911 MKII PTP vs. TM Night Warrior
28 April, 2011, 17:02
Hey all,
Im thinking of one of these pistols as a next purchase, they seem to be the same sort of idea just slightly different down to each make.
Like KWA is full metal, takes single stack mag... TM is plastic, has a 28rnd mag.
But I dont know which one to go for :/
They are similar in price, I have only ever had experience with WE and KWA pistols although I hear nothing but good things about the TMs.
I really dont know what the best option is, sadly I dont know anyone with a night warrior to try it out so no luck there.
Am I right in thinking the rails on the TM are detachable? So it can look like a normal 1911-ish or a bit more tactical?
Any input would be worth a bunch!
Cheers

Re: KWA M1911 MKII PTP vs. TM Night Warrior
For me, I'd go with the TM every time. The NW is similar to the Desert Warrior which was described to me as having all the goodness of the TM 1911 with crisper blowback and having had a TM 1911 and MEU that can only be even more win!

I hear they have a plastic slide, which helps alot with gas efficiency? (sp). Especially when it comes to the really cold weather (which you get alot of in scotland) it would work really well in the cold.

TM are plastic slides yes, but don't let that put you off. They do fair slightly better in cold weather, as you say, and still kick reasonably well too

The TM 1911 platform is amazing. The Night Warrior is excellent, and considering there are no upgrade part for the KWA 1911s
at all
, I'd highly recommended the TM.

the fact that the KWA is a PTP, which basically means the same as System7 or the NS2 engine means the gas efficency is up there with the best, and should work fine on green in cold temps....

there is a metal outer barrel...but to be honest why would you want to upgrade a gun that works perfectly fine in the first place

I still don't think NS2 is really as amazing as some say. I have owned 3 KWA guns, all supposedly with this NS2 system, and none of them worked as well as my TMs in the warm and cold. A month ago, in the cold, they would vent after half a mag.
but to be honest why would you want to upgrade a gun that works perfectly fine in the first place
Because upgrading isn't just to make it better, it's to suit your tastes. And from my experience they don't work perfectly anyway.

they'd probably work even worse after taking the gun apart and replace bits that dont need replacing....each to their own i suppose...imo its not worth the time and money to alter a vast amount of stock guns, probably apart from a tight bore or with certain brands a better hop rubber.

I'm speaking more external upgrades, I love the massive range of body parts for the TM 1911s in case I do decide I'd like a change

I have 3 KWA 1911's and i have had NO issues with any of them, i also own a KWA P226 PTP and it's the best sif i have owned, (and yes i did have a TM one to compare it to). Theire ptp range is very VERY good!

Re: KWA M1911 MKII PTP vs. TM Night Warrior
Well, have to say this discussion seems to be quite even but slightly leaning towards TM. Plastic slide doesnt put me off, im not massive on realism etc, first gun was full plastic g3 and it was a cracker :D
Its out of stock on Z1 atm, but ill keep my eyes out, not in a rush to buy right now but has to be done tho, looks lovely!
Also, anyone whos owned the Night Warrior... do the rails dettach then? :D
Cheers all for the varied input!
