Protecting your ears
8 May, 2011, 15:56
Hi guys,
When wearing a baseball cap how do you protect your ears? I hate the idea of taking a .28 to the ear, especially inside your ear. So if you cover your ears... how do you do it?
Headphones are obvious, so lets exclude them

Re: Protecting your ears
Even if you exclude my headset, both ears are covered by the lower strap of my mesh face mask.

Re: Protecting your ears
I don't tend to cover my ears, but perhaps I should as I was at Dragon Valley the time some tw*t decided to shoot through a key hole and embedded the BB in someones ear lobe.
My wife's always worn a woolly hat pulled down over her ears after I told her about that.

Re: Protecting your ears
I have one of those kinda neck warmer things (in DPM, can get changed to 7 different styles, headband, bandanna, whole face cover etc)
I fold it up a few times, wear it as a bandana over my forehead and my ears...
i know its not the best description... its early

Re: Protecting your ears
myself and my team all wrap shemaghs around our faces for protection. this includes ears.
i personally have a black hunting cap with the fold down earwarmers/protecters
works a treat, and has the benifit of when not wanting them down you just clip the flaps up. :D

Re: Protecting your ears
I've got a logger hat that I wear with my Balkan militia loadout, otherwise it's usually just a shemagh. I took a shot to the ear-lobe the other weekend. It was an unlucky shot, as I was wearing my hoody up over a cap.

Re: Protecting your ears
I have quite a few piercings in both ears, the bb's tend so bounce off with a nice "ting!" when I do get hit. Doesn't really hurt though. =]

Re: Protecting your ears
TO those that use headphones etc... do you find they block out the sound of what is going on? Do they get hot underneath?
