Spotter Weapon

[One Shot, One Kill]

Hi

Anyone have any idea of a spotter's weapon I have a CA M15A4 at the moment and I am thinking about getting that upgraded for a spotter's weapon but not sure.

What do you guys/girls think?

Well, there are numerous things you could do, but at 335fps at the minute then you may struggle to do much more to it unless you lock it to semi auto.

A lot of sites will allow an AEG up to 425fps so long as its locked to semi auto.

If this is the case, then there are a few things you can do to achieve better range and accuracy. A tightbore barrel (6.01) will help increase the FPS slightly, and increase the accuracy a bit too. A new spring would improve the FPS, maybe an M110? Hop rubber would be a good start, as without a good air seal you will lose some FPS. You could upgrade the gearbox and then run a lipo. Cosmetically, a scope and bipod would be good kit to install due to the fact you want to spot people in the distance.

If you are refering to be a spotter for a sniper, may i ask why you want to upgrade? Normally a spotter would use a normal assault rifle so that in the event they get into bother, they can put down a high amount of rounds to escape the situation.

Yes it is for a spotter I am the sniper and letting him use my CA weapon, he want to get a M249 but I was thinking a bit to big and the rattle of the boxmag.

So I dont know what to do?

Yup. You're better off just spending the money on a pair of binoculars for your matey to spot with. I was going to suggest corrective laser eye surgery, but that's just too extreme.

I wouldn't suggest an M249 for a sniper's spotter. Two thousand rounds kinda detracts from the whole stealth element.

Now that we have established that its for your friend, then maybe it is best if you just leave it as is! You could always fit a tightbore barrel to it if not already to improve the fps slightly towards 350, and improve the accuracy. Other than that, if its already at 335 there isnt much more you can do without breaking most site limits. Other than that you could fit something for target acquisition. Something like a second sniper scope, but that is a bit overkill for airsofting. Maybe something along the lines of a x4 acog? Failing that, binoculars are cheap enough! The assault rifle should really just be used for a combo of spotting and for helping you escape any tight situations you may come across!

Edit: Sorry Fizzy, i misread the OP. Thought he wanted to upgrade the aeg to a DMR or keep it as a spotter weapon.
