Site 5 of the Lincolnshire airsoft club on Sunday
26 May, 2011, 23:48
Hi y'all.
I'm new to airsoft, do my first match on sunday. If anyones going to site 5 of the Lincolnshire airsoft club on Sunday drop us a message. It makes it easier when there's someone you know there, I trying to learn all I can before buying a gun. I've got all the gear just not the guns, I've been looking at L96A1's.
Any help or advice on the day or on this forum would be appreciated.

Re: Site 5 of the Lincolnshire airsoft club on Sunday
Unfortunately I`m nowhere near Lincolnshire so not much use there, but I will say that even if you go to the site by yourself, don`t be afraid to talk to people. You`ll probably get to know a few during the gameplay anyway.
Ask questions, look at their kit, ask politely if you can handle the guns to see which one you personally like. The lunch break is always the best time as there is normally a lot of banter and socialising going on.
I`m presuming you know all about the 'skirmishers defence' necessary before you can buy your own gun. As for the L96, you`d be better off getting an AEG for a first gun as it`s more of an all rounder. If you limit yourself to a sniper rifle as a first gun you`ll be spending a lot of time on your own trying to keep up with the game and frankly getting very bored.
Hope this helps

Re: Site 5 of the Lincolnshire airsoft club on Sunday
Alright fella, I'm there on Sunday, we're probably the friendliest bunch of guys going. We usually all stand around nattering at lunch/between games so don't be afraid to come over and have a chat. There's a team called the Spartans who're all from Hull and surrounding areas too, they're a sound bunch aswell.
My username is the same as the clubs forum so if you need/want to find me ask for DCRISP07 or Dave lol.
But yeah, we operate a 35m MED so snipers usually have a rough time as our games are pretty fast moving, get an AEG (Talk to Ian the club owner about ICS guns when you get your defence) as your first gun, you'll have a much better time. As I presume you'll be renting, you'll be probably using an ICS M4 as a hire gun anyway.
See you Sunday.

Yer I'm renting, its my first game. I see what you mean about snipers, the reason I like the L96A1 is because one of the best weapons I've shot but you are right I'll probably look at sniper rifles further down the road. And the names Tim, I'll be the guy on his bill; I'm trying to speed the whole beginners process. I'll see you on Sunday.

If you`re going down the UKARA route then there is no way of speeding up the process unfortunately. The ground rules are normally 3 games in no less than 2 months, so it`s going to take you at least two months/3 games to get the defence.

when I said speeding up the beginners process I meant going by myself, meet people there instead of finding people and then trying to set something up.

You'll be fine dude trust me, we were all beginners once!
We have games there atleast twice a month anyway so you'll be sorted in no time.

they would be fine with you using your gear ,but I'd say there are better sites running games which are closer tbh.
