Re: The Do's and Don'ts of Airsoft brands
UPDATED:
Top Brands that should be good performers 'out of the box:'
Systema (though they're extrenely expensive)
Tokyo Marui or 'TM' (best all rounder - Japanese)
KSC (mainly for pistols)
G&G (top Taiwanese firm)
Western Arms or 'WA' (expensive, more collector-orientated Japanese firm)
Maruzen (expensive, more collector-orientated Japanese firm)
Tanaka (expensive, more collector-orientated Japanese firm)
ICS
G&P
King Arms
Classic Army (but 'Proline' not 'Sportline' models)
Cheaper brands that still perform well (if you get a good one):
A&K
Cyma
SRC
KWA
WE
KJW
102nd Chairborne Rangers
-
"Intelluctus VCRAus recte"
Keyboard Commando
-
"He who argues until the other person gives up and goes away wins"

Not to be pedantic, but isnt KWA just a rebrand of KSC? so they can sell their guns to the U.S/Ect (because KWA don't use real trademarks?

maybe so,but when i mention KSC and or KWA, i tend to write KSC/KWA because of their similarities....
also why does everyone forget VFC as a quality brand

Thats probably because people consider KSC to be a higher quality brand so it goes first, and as KWA are the oem for some KSC products you get the KSC/KWA.

Maybe because there aren't many VFC products around compared to other brands.

Re: The Do's and Don'ts of Airsoft brands
i would say avoid anything under £100 and if its new i would say there is little real chance of anything going wrong if you buy it new. I have yet to see a dud come out of hong kong (and i have seen MANY MANY guns come out of there) not saying there are not duds but quality of china guns have been increasing very rapidly indeed recently

Re: The Do's and Don'ts of Airsoft brands
i also write it KWA/KSC.....you have to take into consideration that KSC is also split into two, Japan and Taiwan.....i personally dont think there is a lot of difference between any of them...except Japanese KSC has a slightly higher quality control

Re: The Do's and Don'ts of Airsoft brands
The right JG stuff id pretty good for the money. I mean Ive ended up with a new m4 for under £40 or £50 before now and they were good I used them a spare guns or loaners and made an m4 pistol out of one before anyone sold one.

you've misunderstood the point, i clarified that i write it either way,coz it doesnt matter.
and i didnt want to seem to agree with psirus101 that i placed one over the other in terms of a true difference in quality.

I have to disagree with g&g being top taiwanese, that crown firmly belongs to ICS having owned both. IMO that is

And i wouldn't put classic army as a Top performer. regardless of pro-line or sportline. All my past classic army guns like breaking more than working...

Re: The Do's and Don'ts of Airsoft brands
Thats really helped me out guys.. Wish I read this before spending £250 on a SRC SR4-SD. Nice rifle, but firing 40fps less than advertised.
It seems like such a terrible shame that innocent civilians have to get hurt in wars, otherwise combat would be such a wonderfully healthy way to rid the human race of unneeded trash.
