So, my Dad brings home some random military gear from work every now and again, and a while back came up with this thing: Its heavy. HEAVY

What i would like to know is, when and where was it worn? And by which platoon/army?

from what i can find from a bit of web surching it's ether a
Soviet SU3B or a
German M27
if it's not I'm prety sure it's WW2 the style and it being heavey

Hmmm, the Soviet helmet you mentioned seems to have a "rim" on it, sticking out like a small cap.

And I just googled "german m27" and found some stuff I didn't want to find. -_- (Should probably have kept safesearch on)

Also, the helmet after I DID find it doesnt quite look the same...
