First Airsoft gun advice
18 June, 2011, 17:34
It's A 40703 Famas, 370 FPS. Single shot, i think it's spring. Apparently the range is 60 meters. 45 rounds & the price is £49.99
Is it worth it?

Not really skirmishable in my opinion. I would save up some more and buy an AEG.

Re: First Airsoft gun advice
370fps - too hot for most sites (if it's true).
Single shot - expect to spend a lot of the day in the dead zone.
60 meters - highly unlikely.
Fifty quid - just doesn't get you anything skirmishable brand new (and it would be a push second hand too).

The guns that the site hires out only have about 280 fps, shouldn't that mean i would be fine?

Re: First Airsoft gun advice
This is from the website. "but the good news is that we do allow 350fps/500fps! (subject to what your gun is)."
So, 370 is fine?

Re: First Airsoft gun advice
Sigh... You would need to check with your AIRSOFT site (not WEBsite) what the Maximum FPS is.
Why is 370fps too much for most sites? It's a single shot, bolt action (type) isn't it...?
For most sites, any gun with a Full automatic capability will be 350fps with a 0.20g BB. Therefore, anything under 350 is fine, so 280 is fine.

I'm only asking questions -_- I'm not sure why the airsoft site website would put up false information but okay.
It is a single shot, the allow up to 400 fps max for single shot according to the website.
I only want to know really if it would be okay for my first skirmish, but everyone keeps telling me i need to spend a LOT of money, when this two tone appears to be just as good as a rif.

Re: First Airsoft gun advice
your looking at a shop web site,
you need to look at your local skirmish site, for fps rules,
for £50 it wont be as good as a rif, and being single shot, you wont stand a chance against AEG's

Re: First Airsoft gun advice
Two tone are fine ( working not to look at ). It's whether it's an age or a springer that's the problem
