no ,they are still a pyro in a way as they contain powder .
Plus they really do need to be used very responsibly

Still, a BFG is less dangerous than disposable pyro.
I dont personally think that there is a problem with under 18 use of pyro, but i would check with the site you play at.

I'd agree they are less dangerous in one aspect but still a pyrotechnic and therefore still need to be 18
