  • S.U.S.A.T on an SLR?

I have just found out that the MED at GZ applies to my rifle, this has lead me to the decision that I should scope it up and give DMR-ing a go.

My question is: would a S.U.S.A.T be a good choice for an SLR, and were they ever used on the SLR in real life?

    I'm asking as I can't afford a S.U.I.T sight for it.

    Thank you in advance!

I knows it nice isn't it, but the last time I saw one on ebay it went for like £360 so ouch....

Thats a S.U.I.T sight, not a SUSAT. And the SLR never had scope when in service

Which one would you say would be better? The normal one or the Spectre DR type?

That picture is what I'm aiming for eventually ^__^

Anyone else have an idea of what I could use?

Check out the photo in post 95 here:
                  http://www.arrse.co.uk/weapons-equip...ht-gpmg-7.html

Looks like a SUSAT on an SLR top cover to me (top, right).
Whether or not that's a valid service configuration, I don't know.

Yeah, it appears to be an SLR cover, and it's definately a SUSAT!

                    It's valid enough for me!

I thought I'd seen a photo of them in service!

Any comment on SUSATs on an SLR, Fizzy?

Never seen it, and I'm sure it wasn't common if it did happen. Not sure how the SUSAT would even fit tbh.

OK - I'll do some more digging.
Though reading the arrse thread has lead me to think that it was an FAL top cover in the picture.

I can mount anything on the rifle guys, keep the ideas coming please!

The reason I referred to "valid service configuration" is that it's possible that top cover was made as an experiment - just like the No32 scope mount for the Bren - Only a couple (literally 1 or 2) were made, and never went into service.
