DE stock on tm shorty?

I have the extendable stock from a DE M56DL shotgun and was wondering if you could put it on a M3 Shorty. It doesn't look like it will fit unless i saw down the back of the shorty (The piece that stick out and holds the stock in place)

Any ideas?

Do you have the grip part from the DL as that'd where the stock slots in if you do why not just swap it with the one on the shorty?
