Returning player to the field. (New member to the forum)
6 September, 2011, 00:32
New to the site but a returning player. I haven't skirmished in ages (pre 2006 before the new laws). I've been out of the airsoft loop for a while now and I recently had a game at a friends private site and remembered how much of a thrill it was.
Slowly getting my kit together again and I'm just wondering what advice you could give on upgrades for my current AEG which is an ICS141. Current FPS is around 310/315 out the box.
As annoying as the UKARA laws are (considering you can still buy a replica air pistol/SMG that can do far more damage with a simple drivers license or passport) I forked out for the AEG but I've already had a few issues with it. Such as the piston. I've gone through two already, and before you say it I'm not a spray and pray kind of shooter. Most if not all of my shots are single shot. The gear box also seems to be whining more than usual. The rifle has had about 2000 rounds pass through it so it really shouldn't be acting up so early.
Suggestions on decent upgrades? Also can anyone point me in the direction of any UKARA registered sites in the Sussex area?
Many thanks
-Sam

ICS split gearbox guns are noisy but if its really whining it sounds like the usual shimming and AOE but also the motor height need adjusting.

Not a clue about the gun sorry. (I'm more of a spring sniper style person)
But here's a list of UKARA Registered sussex airsoft sites:
http://www.eliteactiongames.com/
http://www.rifairsoft.co.uk/
http://www.southdownairsoft.com/
http://sussexairsoft.co.uk/
I've filtered through about 8 or 9 of them, and those are the ones which seem the best and most professionally run sites, however I can't comment on any of them as I live in Cheshire, and airsoft in Wales!
Here's the official list of UKARA Registered sites if you want to take a proper look:
http://www.ukara.org.uk/node/4
If you want to find all in the sussex are hit Ctrl + F on your keyboard, type in 'Sussex' or whatever and hit search!
(Sorry if you already know this and I seem to be a bit patronising but I'm a layman's terms kind of person, haha!)
Hope this helps dude, welcome back into the game!
- Josh

Much appreciated man! I was tempted to travel to Scotland to go and try the Players of War site, but these will save on the travel costs big time!
Many thanks
