thinking of getting one. doe the battery go in the front or the stubby stock???

I've got one, based off a review i read, in the review the chaps battery went in the stock, mine is front wired so sits in the handguard.

Not sure that the stock is designed to have a battery in, as you have to pretty much remove it to get the butt plate off
