Battery Charging...
9 February, 2009, 17:08
Hi,
Got my SPR/A battery with the gun when I bought it off sniper_wolf. Now its a 10.8V battery and I have a ProPeak 2500 charger. The charger says its got a max output of 9.6 V. What does that mean for me and my battery?
Can I charge it ok or do I need another charger?
Thanx
Ben

Re: Battery Charging...
Same. My PSG-1 uses a 10.8v battery, it charges and operates fine.

Re: Battery Charging...
You guys do know right... That your charger wont be charging the 9th cell properly, if the charger only supports up to 8 cells, it may also damage it.
It will stull charge the 8 and say that it has charged properly, but thats what you think!

Re: Battery Charging...
Yeah each cell is 1.2v and they charge in series so the last one won't charge it will seem like you have got a full charge when you use it but as propaintballa says you will damage the pack over time. Also when buying a new charger try to make sure it is a balance charger, it will keep all your battery cells at the same voltage as each other and your batteries will last much longer

Re: Battery Charging...
BTW check my charger 40 quid and charges up to 14 nicd or nimh cells and balances and maintains them.

You will need to buy a power supply for it though, usually about 35 quid but you won't need to buy another charger ever. There are other ones on the market for a little less that do the same. Mine is 2yrs old so you may get better for the same amount but thats usually the going rate for a good charger upwards to over a hundred quid if you wanted to.
