Brass bushings, are they really that bad.
2 November, 2011, 14:14
Right, i have 7mm brass bushings in my ks p90 and was wondering if theres any point changing them out? Thats what the G&G combat machines use and they dont seem to fail. Im thinking of running aroung 20-25 rps, the brass bushings wont melt will they as this is what ive heard.

Re: Brass bushings, are they really that bad.
The "problem" is that brass can be quite a soft metal, and would wear more quickly than, for example, steel.

If you want to run that fast an rps then you should go for full ball bearing type bushes

No, sorry but i just dont trust them for two reasons, i only have a 7mm gb and i dont think i can justify bearings for that size also, if they break, they will be more trouble than they are worth.

you cant run ball bearing's in a p90 box as one of them isnt round. (bar the CA box iirc)
you can get systema self lube metal bushes. i run them in mine and that is @ 28rps and has been totaly fine

I had brass bushings in my G&G GR15. They where so bad they didn't even sit nice in the casing. I replaced them with bearing bushings, systema flat gear set, ultimate other upgrade parts and put a fet in, very nice now. I would def change them mate.

The tm is the only one with the oval bushings, and i have no idea why they used an oval shape :P, im probably getting some shs bushings

Only reason I can think of is there might have been the intention to use a different gear ratio. e.g. for different guns, or different main springs.
If that one pair of bushes is put in the other way round, a different size gear can be fitted because the axle hole is at one end, not the middle..
