  • ICS CXP

Hey all. Im thinking about getting an ICS CXP as a backup gun. Is there really any justification for the £300 price tag for the metal bodied one compared to the £160 plastic bodied one? Are the internals really that different?

    Cheers,

    Internaly they are the same.
Aside maybe from the stupidly noisy Infinity motor apposed to the slightly less noisy Turbo 3000.
The price difference realy is just pastic vs metal body.

Plastic body is still very good, held one and its solid, plus it will be a little lighter

IF it's just a back up gun, and your not made of money go for the plastic one... If you have lots of money to spare get the metal one.... Or something else for that price!!

But tbh, your not getting much more for £140 quid more are you :P so get it and then maybe put a good tightbore in it, and maybe buy a nice optic on it and your sorted, AND it'll still be cheaper

I had this exact question to decide last month until I had the chance to hold/fire the two types and oh boy ! The metal gun is like day and night compared to the plastic. In my opion, the weight is so realistic on the metal gun and the kick back that the metal one gives compared to the plastic one is alot more powerfull. Put it this way, I have had people comment on how nice of a CXP mine is compared to other folks.... why ? METAL even looks better. Be different and go for the metal buddy, you will not be dissapointed !

Yeah I bought a metal CXP as my first AEG and its an excellent choice! It feels very nice to hold and for a non-blockback RIF is certainly does have some kick. It sounds agressive and the sliding stock is solid! I chose it as I thought plastic was going to be lame and im glad I paid the extra money.

However, it is my primary so the extra weight, price does not bother me. Fot its size is is heavy so depending so you might want to see it in person first. I have fitted a ICS silencer to it and hidden a longer 360mm systema tight bore in there and its incredibly accurate now, looks sweet with my 551 Eotech as well

Get it, I dont think you will regret it.

What does the tight bore thing do ? Does it increase the FPS too ? The only reason that I ask is our ( Northern Ireland ) FPS is only 330 which I think I might be already close to

                  Re: ICS CXP

It does increase it a little bit and mine fires about 338 stock so you might be in throuble anyway. Mainly tight bore barrels are for accuracy and better grouping though they do add a little extra range as well. You may have to fit a weaker spring, very easy job on the split gearbox, and it might add a couple extra bb's per second.

While the metal bodied one may well feel better, why bother splashing £300 on a backup?

                      Re: ICS CXP

It wont be seeing that much use, itll mainly be for cqb (my main site is a woodland one) and a backup if my kwa goes down. i may buy a metal body at a later date if needs be, but for nowi think ill go with the plastic one. thanks for the help guys.

I owned both of these, and the metal one is not worth the money, I paid 150 for plastic and got my metal one for 220, there is no real difference other than the trademarks on it and the build quality on both is sound, usually you get a wobble appear on the plastic upper m4's but mine was solid, get the plastic and get a spare pistol if you have £300 quid burning a hole, or if you just want one gun, get a G&P cracker, which is full metal and is better than the CXP, bare in mind also with the CXP is its front wired and you need a custom battery for the battery box it comes with, which set me back £28.

Ive got botht the plastic and the metal version of the cxp, to be honest i use the plastic one more, only down to the weight factor, BUT, the metal one does look better and does feel better when compared but its down to how touch you want and how you want it to look, fall over on a plastic one youll snap it, fall on the metal one youll hurt yourself.

I would go for the plastic body as it is cheaper and as a CQB gun i would like something lighter and easy to use.
