No, you need a charger capable of charging lipos

      Re: lipo

If you're using a LiPo battery then you should have read the saftey guidlines and instructions so you should already know the answer to this question. The 'other' connector is used to plug the battery into a balance charger that makes sure that all the cells in the battery get charged correctly.

Do a youtube search on dangers of charging LiPo's incorrectly and Im sure you will go back to your local shop to get it charged. Just buy a proper charger for it. Mine cost me £25 and it saves my house from burning down!.....If you didnt realise already, they explode into flames if they are charged incorrectly!

        Re: lipo

Yes you need a specialised charger for LiPo's. The other lead is the balancing lead which plugs into a charger capable for doing LiPo's and it make sure each cell has the same charge hence the 'balancing'.

Under NO circumstances charge a LiPo on a charger designed for NiCad/NiMH or you will have a very serious fire on your hands that the fire brigade will refuse to put out.

              Re: lipo

even if a very basic no balancing lipo charger does work on a similar principle to a propeaks charger the voltages are different the rate of charge is different and the way they pulse the current is different

Mind you you can buy a balancing lipo charger that will do 2 cells or 3 cells for £7 on the bay but it only charges at 700mah per hour maybe 1amp max so it takes a good few hours to charge and you can`t set the rate it charges at like you can on the more expensive chargers but it does me fine charging my lipos that are 1700mah up to 3200mah even if it takes 3 or 4 hours the charge the bigger ones lol
