What Lube for GBBR's?
9 December, 2011, 19:12
Hi all, bit of a noob question but what is the best or acceptable lube/grease to use on GBBR's? i was thinking Abbey LT2 gun grease (molybdenum disulphide). obviously the grease/lube will be used on moving parts i.e. bolt assembly, recoil springs, trigger mechanism assembly etc etc.
thanks for reading...

Would the LT2 grease be sufficient though?

Lithium grease or silicone grease for metal to metal.
Silicone oil for the mag and blowback.

Lithium grease... LOL as used by Fred Flintstone, it was crap then and it's still crap now.
Molybdenum Disulphide is far far far superior to Lithium grease. The only negative thing I can say about it is it tends to look quite dirty as it goes coal or soot black due to its make up and composition. Some people will think the gun is thus dirty even when it's not and it does sometimes make it difficult to spot when actual dirt has contaminated the grease.
Ideally Teflon grease. Look at the Finish Line product range.

Ok, Cheers General. i don't mind the dirty look and the GBBR will most likely be stripped and cleaned after every gameday so no problems there over long term build ups.
will keep my eye out for that teflon grease though...

Ive said before and i will say again.
Grease is grease.
I use lithium grease and have no problems, hence i recomend it.
Afterall these things most of the time are greased after a game put away, then cleaned and regreased ready for the next outing, so in reality how much use does the pistol/rifle get between cleans?
Why use a nuke when a bullet will do

Grease is grease? Are you serious? Lol. Why buy an inferior product when you already have something better.
