    How to check what make y new AK is

    /Just bought an AK recently from a forum member and was wondering if i was lucky enough to have picked up a Cyma? What markings should I be looking out for?

    the newer ones have kalashnikov written on the left hand side its really visable but also just look for a cm.o....... part number on the gearbox if its a cyma

      What about the older ones as i dont want to have to get to the gearbox

              ok fine, if i am not back in 5 that meens i am getting an earfull

              ok the receiver looks kind of greyish and on one side it has stamped 'made in china cal something or another'

                not all cyma ak's have grey recievers mind they are all different best thing would probably be a picture but as i say if you really want to know if its cyma the gearbox will have a cm part number on it

                  wake up the missus ask her for the camera and get her to hold the ak up to the light so you can take a pic and then upload it :D

                  but from all my research and the one i own (i have the newer one) the original older cymas are plastic bodied except the top receiver, and are quite grey in comparison to the top

                    the lower is quite grey in comparison, i will check the gear box later as i have realised its not that hard to take apart, i tried it out today and it was firing really nicely
