jing jong m4 mag.
24 October, 2009, 16:16
I went to my local airsoft shop today and picked
up a spare mag for my Jing Gong CQB it works
fine in the gun but does not lock into place like
my other mag so with a little pull the mag falls
out. Is there anything i can use to hold the mag
into place more securly? so when im playing it wont fall
out. Or is the mag no good?
The mag is not Ging Gong but the gun is.

Re: jing jong m4 mag.
Slight variations in size, give it a good whack in. Should click into place!

Either that, or extend the slot on the side of the mag, where the catch goes. It may just be a little too short.

Re: jing jong m4 mag.
I was going to whacking it but did not want to brake it. I was thinking about putting electrcal tape around the top of the mag and giveing it a hard push so it will fit
tight in to place would this be ok.
How would i be able to extend the slot on the side of that mag?
as this sound like a good idea if it will works.

Electrical should do the trick. Try that before you start tinkering with it.

Re: jing jong m4 mag.
I agree with the above, but if you do need to mod it, just file the lower edge of the slot a couple of mil at a time. Basically, the mag isn't going far enough into the magwell for the catch to seat properly in the slot. You can't make the mag go any higher, as it's limited by the hop unit, so you need to make the catch work with the mag in a slightly lower position. If you think of the slot as the side of a box, it's the lower edge that you need to extend.

Re: jing jong m4 mag.
Update tried yesterday pushing the mag in and gave it a tap with no joy still loose. Great news tried putting in the mag today gave it a harder tap and it locked into place. Since then I only have to put the mag in and give it a little push and locks into place and works fine. Now i have to working 300rd High Capacity Magazine.
Thank you to everyone that helped.

I'd have thought it was the upper edge that needs extending...

You're correct. The upper edge needs extending.
