  • Retailer Question

Does a retailer have to be registered to sell RIFs?

There is a place near me that is selling RIFs. They are cheap SA80s but are not two tone. I went in to check the place out and the owner bought a thick black bin liner out from under the counter full of Tanfoglio Witness 1911 C02 pistols. 120 quid each.

This is a small surplus store and seems very dodgy to me.

Is there any way to check the place out?

No-one has to be a part of UKARA, I'm not and I've sold RIFs before.

Dunno if you have to be registered to Ukara, just have to obey the law.

If he is selling to under 18's or those without a defence yeah its pretty dodgy.

If I'm selling multiple items then I could be considered one.

Retailers Don't have to be registered to sell.

They can import as they have their own defence.

I think they have to be a RFD is they sell air guns, but don't know about airsoft.

Is this finally an admission, as you wouldn't respond to my PMs?

Despite sounding off as some sort of legal knowledge and quoting legislation chapter and verse on the VCRA threads, I asked him inumerable times to tell people about his experience of application and understanding of the law to establish some credibility. Did he? No. He kept avoiding the issue and misquoting, or "Clipping" my posts as he called it.

Anyway, he rather naughtily mentioned another airsoft forum on another thread and when I reported it (As he'd kindly asked me to) he took great pleasure in sending me a PM, gloating as he'd gotten away with it at that time. I asked him to privately let me know his credentials for quoting the law of the land in the manner he has. Did he? Again, no.

According to his mate, he's a radio ham or something, so that qualifies him as some banbag lawyer? "Go figure", as our American cousins might say.

No. Actually its is fact. His problem is that my, and some others', opinion just doesn't match his...

He'll no doubt now derail this thread, like he has a few others, in an attempt to harass me further.
