  • Receiving an RIF from a Registered player.

Question 1: My uncle has been playing airsoft for many a moon, he's UKARA registered, I'm not.
He's got a TM VSR 10 RIF, he doesn't really like sniping, besides he's more of a world war 2 nut.
Would it be alright for him to give me the rifle e.g. for my birthday. I'm pretty sure it's legal I just wanted to ask as I hate two tone guns, but I don't want to break the law.

Question 2: If I was to give my uncle the money, would it be legal for him to purchase an RIF on my behalf, I'm pretty sure it's not, but I thought it was worth asking.

    Thanks

    Joe

    1. Legal as its gifting a RIF
    2. Illegal as he would be purchasing on behalf of you.

      1. Fine
      2. Not fine.

Basically you cannot "buy" a RIF. Buying includes "giving the money to somebody" or "working for it".

It is a grey area, but pretty much as a genuine gift is ok.

Might help people a bit more if we knew how old you were bud because a lot of people on here will automatically make the assumption that youre underage.
