Spraying Two-Tones
5 September, 2010, 23:05
Greetings Airsofters.
I have searched this forum and found posts/threads on spraying a RIF to Two Tone and apparently thats fine... What is the deal on spraying a Two-Tone to black or any other realistic colour?
Since you don't need UKARA to buy a RIF, you only need to prove you are a skirmisher, is this the case with two tones? :D
eg
Spray it
+
if someone asks why you sprayed...Have proof you are a skirmisher
=
All good?
Section 36 of the Violent Crime Reductions Act (2006) says that it's illegal to alter an unrealistic imitation (ie a two-tone) to make it into a realistic imitation
Any other opinions?
I realize this is a rather grey area. Help as much as you can thankyou.

Heres my take on it.
Spraying before you have ukara reg is realy not recomended, a lot of people will call it manufacturing an rif, also how do you explain to pc plod that you have a defence? Because if you are buying two tone then respraying you obviously havent been to enough skirmishes.
I have seen people kicking up a stink even after ukara reg.
But imo if you have to buy two tone just leave it that way untill you have ukara reg.

Re: Spraying Two-Tones
But do people check for your UKARA at skirmish sites?

Re: Spraying Two-Tones
But why woudnt they want you to play, because you have sprayed your two-tone gun black, aslong as they have got your skirmish fee.

Re: Spraying Two-Tones
Try explaining that to bobby.
I want to know... is spraying a two tone into a RIF without UKARA illegal?
Yes or No?

Re: Spraying Two-Tones
Yes. But I don't think you would be fined or anything for doing it, if a skirmish site doesn't have to check that you have a UKARA, it woudnt matter, would it?

Now... Which way to go?

Re: Spraying Two-Tones
No! It isn't. Having yourself Registered with UKARA is only one means of proving defence. There are others. Like site membership for instance. You could also obtain receipts everytime you skirmish and keep them. This would also prove you are a regular skirmisher. And that is basically the crux of the matter, proving you have a defence.
However, as stated above if you can prove defence, why would you want to buy a 2 Tone and paint into a RIF? Unless of course you bought it prior to being able to prove defence.

Re: Spraying Two-Tones
Would you say I should check it out with UKARA itself?
And, because online retailers do not sell RIF's unless you can prove you have a UKARA Reg.
Thanks Jfox. First bit of good news on this post.
