Just was wondering, if you are a active member of a living history group you are ukara exempt?

You mean do you have a 'defence under the VCRA'? UKARA is a retailers organisation.

Forget UKARA - it's totally nothing to do with you if you are indeed a Reenactor.

Under the VCRA - yes you do. If you can prove it.

UKARA is a database of airsofters who have the "skirmishers defense" since UKARA is the umbrella organization for airsoft retailers

IF you belong to a living history or reenactment group you will have a specific defense under the VCRA.

You will usually need to be the member of a group that is a affiliated with a national association like NAReS or AFRA before a retailer will sell to you. The same rules apply to reenactment groups that apply to airsoft sites (Risk assessments, insurance etc...)

If you're the member of a WWI,WWII or nam group then the group leaders should have all the details of your defense. If your group does older stuff like the sealed knot or waterloo/crimea era then replicas MAY fall outside the remit of the VCRA

Its a ww2 group and they are affiliated with AFRA, thanks for the info!

AFRA membership is fine. Give them a copy of the insurance details downloaded from the website, along with your membership number and the contact details for them to check with the committee. Don't forget that membership renewals are due after december 31st
