Another UKARA question
7 February, 2012, 21:28
I know that to qualify you must play at least three times a year over a period of not less than two months at a game site that has third party public liability insurance.
My querstion is:
Is it 2 calendar months or say 8 weeks.
I played on 5th Feb and will play again on 19th feb if I then play on 4th March is that ok? It covers 2 calendar months but not full 2 months from first game to the third game.
Hope this makes sense!
Cheers

Re: Another UKARA question
I think that it has to be over a period of two months IE 60 days but lets wait for the google lawyers to come along and misquote peoples posts.

Re: Another UKARA question
You have to have played 3 times or more over a period of more than 2 months. Unfortunately UKARA picked terrible wording when they wrote out the requirements which is why it's easy to get confused.

Sorry do you have a degree in law? the fact that you post all of your posts with such conviction has led me to believe you are a barrister,QC possibly even a judge.

Re: Another UKARA question
It's no less than two months, ie over 60 days! Not "in two different months."
Done!

Re: Another UKARA question
You
still
have valid a defence if you're a regular skirmisher. There is
no
Home Office definition of 'regular' in this context.

Just making sure people are aware... seems to be a little known fact around here.

Thanks that's all i needed to know. Gives me the time to save for a new sidearm instead of getting a used one.

Why does he need a degree in law to understand what the UKARA registration requirement is?
Can we stop with the bitching please!

Re: Another UKARA question
This will be down to the site owners interpretation of the recommendations.
As the owner will be filling in the UKARA form online it is up to him to ensure that he believes you have waited the necessary number of days that UKARA require.
It doesn't really matter what we all think or post ...Email the owner /organiser and ask whether he believes you will be eligible on that last skirmish date.

It's not meant as a reference to this thread and I apologise for going off topic, but Fil here has demonstrated that he has an intricate understanding of the way our legal system works, despite not actually being a solicitor a judge etc and IMO that's wrong. I work in a hospital does that make me a cardiologist? No do I have some experience dealing with patients that suffer angina and other heart conditions? yes I do. Would I go onto an internet forum and begin diagnosing peoples ailments? NO I would No despite being extremely familiar with it.

Quite.
Which makes this accurate:

This irrelevant:

And this, the best advice in this case:

Edit: Post #13. That's not going to be good.

Aww, thanks. I'm glad you feel that i've demonstrated that I have an intricate understanding of the way our legal system works. Personally I wouldn't go that far but it's nice that people feel that way. Anyway here's an idea for you, if you think the posts I make in this forum contain incorrect information how about instead of the bitchy responses you actually take the time to put together a proper response showing why it is you think that i'm wrong?
