Re: Newbie Speak
The best lines usually come from the a little bit too serious regulars!
In general though, newbies and firing at ANYTHING during briefs, lunch and walking about! You'd have though the opportunity to shoot real targets all day would have satisfied that urge!

Re: Newbie Speak
Yeah, the majority of newbie quotes tend to be Halo or CoD references.
I like the newbies who try and bang kill you from about 30ft away.

*tries to think back to what he's said*
I remember a few looking at disbelief when a sniper in a full ghillie got up out the ditch and just walked off for a fag

Re: Newbie Speak
Managing to ditch about 20 rentals in the village at CSW, the fact that they were defending a village that wasnt even in the game at the time was great.
Sunday after a rental between games decided to see how a regular reacted when being shot at close range shot me with a good couple of second burst, unfortunately with his rather battered rental gun it didnt hurt much, so I turned around looked at him and at the same time as a marshall said "bet this one hurts more", he didnt believe me and shot me again, the consequence was a 4-5 second burst unloading a whole midcap into his ass as he tried to run away. He came back saying "f**k me I didnt realise your guns would hurt so much".
Being called a hacker by a rental because I got him at a much greater range than he could get me, did make me smile.
One of the best fails Iv heard was a guy (non rental as well) had a 9mm BFG land right next to him, and Im talking inches from him, it went off, and we heard no "HIT" being shouted, he was still shooting, so 2 of us went up and pointed out the BFG next to him and said "your hit mate" (he was in cover so trying to pull a fast one), his reply, and I will remember this for a long time was "Oh sorry mate I couldnt hear it over the sound of my AEG" I mean WTF?
We promptly got a marshall over to check his ammo, when he asked why we sarcastically said "just checking its not real 5.56 your shooting".
section 24 of the 1968 Act
Supplying imitation firearms to minors
1)It is an offence for a person under the age of eighteen to purchase an imitation firearm
2)It is an offence to sell an imitation firearm to a person under the age of eighteen.

Re: Newbie Speak
I was in a convo with a group of lads and the phrase "CQB" was being used a lot. A noob was earwigging and eventually figured out what CQB meant.
We could hear him behind us go on and and on about "Close Quarters Battle" till eventually someone said. "Mate we know you've just figured out what CQB means but you dont need to celebrate it."
Everyone around LOL'd at him.... Red Face aaaaaaaaaand GONE!

That's one way to stop the sport growing.
Who's the idiot, the guy trying to get involved, or the guy trying to humilate him?

Re: Newbie Speak
Sitting in the safe-zone readying my M14 SOCOM for the day, it's completely barebones at this point with nothing on it and no one bats an eyelid, but as soon as that scope touches the rail it's like a swarm of rats converging on some rotten meat. It's all touchey-feely holdy-aimy with a bunch of kids asking me if I no-scope/quick-scope/drop-shot ect. It was extremely embarrasing for me to even be hearing the comversation/questions.
One time I had a kid trying to convince me that my M14 SOCOM + Scope was a Cheytac M200 (Intervention).
I also had some chavvy kid in jeans, trainers, snow 'camo' jacket and a NEON GREEN L96 folllwing me and my M14 around while I was looking for a spot to hide in. I finally found a good spot and set myself up to repel the waves of enemies who'd soon be making their way across the brides.
So whay does this kid do? He lie's down about 3m from me, completely in the open and starts shouting stuff like "TARGET SIGHTED!" and "ENEMY IN MY SIGHTS!" These guys are about 150 meters away from us and he's trying to knock 'em off. Then while they're in earshot, he starts calling to me with stuff like "You, SNIPER ON THE LEFT, you cover that side!"
Long story short, we eventually get over-run by a group of about 10 guys with AEGs, and then a marshall comes and tells us, and the guys we're fighting that we're all out of bounds, and subsequently dead.
Noobs are stupid.
