why is it 4 letters

I was trying to look for a FN FAL and can't because it said there was not enough letters in the search box.

I notice a lot of guns have 2 or 3 letters/numbers in their names.

As a forum grows it adds words to a database in order to speed up searches. If it included three letter words the database would fill up the internet overnight. Well, it would slow the forum down to a crawl at least.

What people probably need to do is add a suffix to a gun's keyword when posting a thread.

"For sale: Marui M16 M16AAA"

It'll never happen though.

or you could search for FN* instead of FN - the star tells it to try substituting other letters (including none) for results. your words have to be 3 letters long, but if less you can make it up to 3 with *s. - EDIT two stars not one ... needs to be 4 letters

Yeah, it's 'crazy' but no forum if you can search for three letters. This place struggles as it is.

You can put them at the beginning and in the middle too.

So:

M*4** would return M4's, M4A1's and M14's etc.
