jfox, you linked to a site which sold Airsoft guns, last time I looked Zero One sold them , sorry but even a sub page or image hotlink is not allowed as it serves the same purpose to a google bot in the search engines.

If they lock it, it will only fuel the fire and someone will simply create a new one. I actually find it quite entertaining

No I never, it was a site that sold automobile parts suggest you check links before pulling them I can send you the link youself if you want to check it out for yourself.

Why don't you all just go the whole hog and just ban links at least then we know where we stand.

Ok I admit, re-reading the whole thread I notice 1 thing, no mod has edited any posts. There is no log file for any mod edits, no mod can edit without leaving a mod log, for that not even an admin.

                Where was this link?

Hi Rampage this is the link I posted it was definitely there as there is a post by someone who informed me thwe link had been removed feel free to delete the link if you do feel it breaches rules but if you check the site it is call Autowbars towing centre so you can see it is no way airsoft related.

After conversation with ramapge seem like yours truly mister plonker here missed putting the link into the thread and it wasn't, as I had been informed, removed.

Sorry to the mods The mods do a great job.

I seem to recall reading that linking to google was technically a rule breach (in relation to the 'let me google that for you') so I guess ebay will be too. A bit much, but what the hey, their forum innit?

lmgtfy is a way of short url linking, which is how some users tried to link to other retailers, direct forwarding links are the same in my book as linking directly.

Well I was very careful to make sure the product and seller had no link or relation to airsoft and that the product even in a different form was not sold by Z1. Just that iI forgot to actually post the link. Seems it wouldnt have been pulled as it was a safe link

anyone else think that it is a bit strick to get a warning for simply asking someone in a classifieds thread to split the gun? i think this benifits anyone else interested in the gun and is a relevent question . . . .

Not if the OP states no splits on the template. If you want to ask about splits then pm the guy If the guy puts maybe or yes then you can ask but if he is saying no splits then why ask him. And a warning is just a reminder.

Please read the rules before complaining. It's very logical that if the seller states "no splits" in the template, then asking for splits just needlessly bumps the thread. That's exactly what the new classifieds rules try to avoid.

Some times yes, sometimes no. Not every one will aggree with those that make/inforce the rules, you will always get the ,Kevin the teenager, 'it's so unfair' cry from some people whether they've read the rules or not.
The only thing I don't really like is the threads and posts to a lesser extent that go missing/closed without any explaination, surely it's just good manors to let the starter of a thread, and those that contribute within rules etc, a reason for closing. This may help stop any future wrong threads even starting.
