Request for the "Sales Sections"

Dear Mods,

Can I please request it be mandatory for the seller to put in their location.

With many forum sales I prefer, especially with AEGs of high value, to take a look at the item before I buy, this also saves postage as well as paypal fees if you can pay with cash on collection.

This will also reduce the overall Forum size, as i'm am continually asking sellers of their location thus upping post counts.

If you think this is a good idea please can you add it somehow? This is mandatory on 3 other, non airsoft forums, I frequent.

I agree as well. I have mentioned this before. I like to do face to face deals on high value items. Saves being scammed or buying a duffer. Maybe just a rule change to make it compulsory to put your location in your profile?

+1 as I really only like to do deals face to face. Would stop me having to pm or post asking for location so I also think it would have a twofold effect in preventing spamming too.

I agree and disagree, Yes I would like it if everyone put there location in their CP, but then if users where not prepared to do that, then they are also likely to try to avoid putting it in the sales post, and there would be no way to moderate it. If a seller wants to, or is willing to do a face to face trades, then it should be up to them to state so, along with the location in the post.

Otherwise as Jagillham said, PM the seller. Technically if they don't say they are willing to trade face to face asking could be considered spam bumping

Because some people live in rough places, and don't want people to sterotype as soon as they see their location. As i have South Wales in mine, i wonder how many people though "sheep sha**er"

Take me for example, I speak my mind. I'm kinda distinctive to find and for some reason I've put my location. If I really annoyed somebody they could easily track me down....

I don't think people would go as far as "track you down" this is a public forum i know, and appreciate the fact that people might not like to give out their location as a safety reason.

But if you're selling something, surely you want to be as flexible as possible to make the sale as easy as possible.

As for stereotypes, surely no one really thinks that? We're all for the sport aren't we, we all enjoy the same thing, we should be united together in this community not fearing each other?

No, not really. I don't want to do face-to-face sales. It's too much hassle and I could never guarantee I'd be there due to work commitments.

If you want to show your location and/or deal direct, go right ahead.

It's unenforceable anyway.

While it can be useful, I don't think it should be mandatory, as Panoptes said he (and others I suspect) simply don't want to to or can't do face to face deals so it's irrelevant.
