  • Need to have a moan

*sorry not sure where to put this so here seemed to be the best place move if necessary*

I have to vent my anger at the fact, i have been done over twice on this fourm! i love this forum and have found it great for help and advise and almost everybody i have had dealing with in the classifieds has been great, fast shipping and great communication but i am outraged at the two times that this has not been the case. One seller, I'm still waiting on a parcel since mid april or just a pm tbf and the second person who also will not be named and shamed even tho it turns out it was a complete scammer and i unfortunately was not the only person to have had this problem with the user, took my money and ran so to speak! now am i wrong here or is it bad too expect jus a little decency when trading!

If you feel you've been had, use the itrader feedback. That way, other forum users won't fall foul of the same wankers you have.

I feel for you mate, but rants like this will fall on deaf ears. The itrader is there to help us all out.
There's a scammer operating openly on this forum. Please be aware of who you're dealing with.

In the case of the second person who scammed you negative feedback on itrader won't help as they're banned now. That said, it really is on the buyer to put in the due diligence before giving anyone money.

In the case of that second scammer he was asking ridiculously low starting prices for what he was selling, which should have set alarm bells ringing, his pictures made no sense and showed the guns in a condition that didn't match his descriptions (indeed 30 seconds on Google showed he had just lifted them straight from old reviews on other airsoft websites), which should have set alarm bells ringing, his actual descriptions of the guns were odd (like saying he kept his plastic TM M9 slide 'regularly polished'), which should have set alarm bells ringing, and so on. Even if I wanted those guns really badly (and I did quite like the look of two of them) I would have been asking that seller some serious questions, and probably have been asking for some specific photos, before forking out any money. Then, even if all that were satisfied, I certainly wouldn't have gifted him the money like you did.

A guide to trading on ZeroIn:

∙Make sure that you follow the template and give as much accurate information as you can about the item(s) you are selling/swapping. All individual items must use the template.

∙When asked about an item via PM, get an assurance that the user in question will buy the item when a deal has been reached. Then you have grounds to leave neutral feedback if the user drops out of the deal. I recommend printing each PM.

∙Check the users iTrader, if you have any concerns ask the users involved via PM for more information.

∙Before selling the item, make sure you check the legal issues. I request that a user sends me a photo of them holding their passport with their username in the picture, UKARA number if they have one, or the site they regularly visit so I can check their VCRA defense.

∙Make sure you get the contact details of the person you are dealing with, both the seller and the buyer. Contact phone number, suitable times to call, and email address are the minimum that I would request.

∙Never send money as a gift via PayPal, you will not be able to get it back if anything does go wrong. I would suggest you use the Zero One Xchange (Escrow) service for piece of mind.

∙Once the funds have been received make sure that the buyer is contacted letting them know, and when then can expect you to have posted the item.

∙Always post items recorded delivery. If you don’t your item may become “lost in the post”. And let the buyer know the tracking information as soon as possible. Try and meet in person to hand over the item if you can.

∙When you have received the item, inform the seller, and if there are any problems let them know straight away. Any issues with damaged packaging can be claimed with the delivery agency by the seller.

∙If the item was not as described contact the seller immediately and politely let them know. Do not start tampering with the item, or posting offensive messages to them.

∙Once the trade is complete, please leave suitable iTrader feedback for the other user.

∙If a user can’t be contacted for whatever reason there is a new section of the forum 'Lost Souls' that you can post in requesting the user’s attention. Anyone who can contact the unavailable user should PM them and let the original poster know. No personal information should be posted on this forum. Any inflammatory posts will be removed. Only people attempting to contact that user should post in the thread. All thread titles should contain the username of the person you are trying to contact.

∙A moderator cannot give you any information on any user for any reason. We can only PM a user if their inbox is full requesting they remove some messages and contact you. That is unfortunately as much as we can do when it comes to trade disputes.

Re: Need to have a moan

There is a group of us who regularly keep an eye out to catch these toe rags and have tried to effect change on the forum for the good and benefit of the users, but...........

The forum is owned and maintained by Zero One
Zero One sells stuff - anything bought from the classifieds is not bought from them

To that end they have zero interest in clearing up the classifieds as the more people who get disheartened with it the better as far as they are concerned. We did manage to get the rules changed to include photos in RIF sales, but they did not go so far as to stipulate they had to be your own photos!

The ideal solution is all photos must include the users user name and a date to prove the item is actually in their possession.

Ask for additional photos with random stuff. I don't mean a dragons tooth or anything like that, but something that needs to be staged.

The gun surrounded by socks, a tea spoon, an upside down TV remote showing the batteries..........

Any decent seller will understand and oblige you. Anybody claiming not to have access to a camera will be able to lay their hands on a camera phone - own, parent, sibling, relative or friends and MMS you the required photos.

Don't be put off as there are bargains to be had..... But do ask awkward questions!
