  • 'Where can I buy a xxxx?' threads

These seem to crop on on a regular basis, so bearing in mind we're not allowed to mention other retailers, should these threads be allowed to live?

I know this could bring up a large and varied response...

      But why?

90% of the time the answer would be in direct conflict with forum rules.

Because if you haven't noticed, look at the top right hand corner at the top of your page, this forum is run by and paid for by zero one, MMUK (their sister company who sells camo) and Ground Zero (zero one's airsoft site).

Most of the time these kinds of topics just get lots of replys of "I have pm'd you mate " or sly remarks that give you hints as to what retailer to choose from on google etc.

I dont mind these topics myself but it should really only be put up if you are properly stuck or it is a part not on the Zero one website.

(To be fair 90% of the topics are for something trivial which can be found in less than 10 mins with the right approach of google and general knowledge of what airsoft shops are good for what)

+1 Fizzy. BUT - If zero one dont stock it, then is it technically a breach of forum rules? I dont see a problem with THAT. Then again, people dont bother checking Zero One first (or so it seems...). So yeah, back to my original point. +1 Fizzy.

If Z1 don't stock that item, and the said retailer doesn't stock anything that Z1 does then it will be fine. But if said retailer stocks anything that Z1 does then it's a nono

It would be easier to just ban thread like that mentioned. Any fool can use google to find something if Z1 dont stock it.

So why was someone's thread killed for recommending car-type fuses?
Zero One doesn't sell them, and I didn't see anything airsoft related last time I was in Halfords...

Re: 'Where can I buy a xxxx?' threads

Could of been for many reasons, as halfords do stock fuses for airsoft guns and silicon spray and spray paint which zero one do, its a very smudgy fine line on the rules.

And as for people using google, unfortunately hoggy, people are too lazy, a lot of the threads started tend to start "I have used the search function but...." which I now start to read, "I have used the search function but.....I cant be bothered to go past the first page or actually look at other retailers sites!"

Some new players can be damn lazy, generally these are the players that quit within the first couple of years.

The car fuses incident turned out to be a mistake and (if I remember correctly) it wasn't actually deleted because it was never posted correctly.

WRT searching the forums, wouldn't you have thought a search for "MP5" or "G36", etc. on a forum to do with guns would produce more than 0 results? Then there's the 30-second wait to try another futile search...

Just search for "MP5*" or "G36*" though...and then you will win at searching
