'Thumbs up' poll
17 October, 2010, 17:29
From the previous thread;
"Can we have something similar to the youtube thumps up/down on comments. It could come in handy for things like advice threads, if someone has given good advice people could give the persons comment a thumbs up instead of quoting and saying +1, agreed.. etc.
Also if someones advice is bad you could do a thumbs down.
Would also be good for just general agreeing/disagreeing on the forum.
Thats if such a system exists for vBulletin forums"

Re: 'Thumbs up' poll
Good idea IMO. Stops idiots like me giving the wrong advice to newbies.

Re: 'Thumbs up' poll
Possibly missing a trick here?
I would assume a thumbs up
AND
thumbs down application would be useful. Rather than one or the other.
Rules out the scenario when someone says something totally wrong and one person puts "thumbs up" and 10's of others know the post is misleading/wrong. :p ofc there's the reverse, when someone gets the wrong idea when someone puts "thumbs down" next to a post.
But yes, great for people new to the sport wanting to see what's a good idea and what's clearly not easily :p
BTW: +1 on leebristol's post

Re: 'Thumbs up' poll
still have to quote the thing the person said and you wouldnt want 20 odd people doing that, also its not that noticeable and no-one tends to use it

surely only the composer of the message and moderators can change the thumbs up and thumbs down post icon?
So... either the mods get tonnes of work to do :p
plus, no-one usually thinks their opinion is wrong, so a thumbs up from them could be misleading
It has to be interactive with everyone else on the forums me thinks. :D
