Thread closure button
7 February, 2011, 16:16
Hello fellow Zeroin: Airsoft forums users.
Does anything think that a button towards the bottom of the page, on sales threads, "Submit thread closure request" Or similar, would be appropriate?
This I believe is needed as, sure, you can PM a mod/assistant but not many people do and I'm sure they'd rather not trawl through tonnes of PM's, especially as some people may have heavier workloads.
So if we had this button here, it would be like the report button and it would go to all mods/admins/assistants so they can close a thread ASAP.
But I hear you say, why not just put 'close thread' at the bottom. Yes this is ok but sometimes they can be missed/slow to be closed, so this would counter it. This would mean all threads would be closed, none missed and it would be much more sufficient and swift.
Anyone agree this maybe a good idea?
Cheers.

I agree but would it save time?
Decrease workload-
Maybe people Should be able to lock their threads . To ensure authenticity include a sign off that shows it needs to be closed

Re: Thread closure button
I still think closing our own threads is the way to go. I have several threads that are still waiting to be closed. And as mods said, threads may get left open/it will get untidy etc.
At the minute a lot of threads arent getting closed anyway, so we would be no worse off!

Re: Thread closure button
I just checked on some of my old threads and I can't see a thread close in the thread tools.

Re: Thread closure button
I didn't think it worked on threads outside the sales section?
I can't close my old tech help thread anyway...

Re: Thread closure button
ah, just checked one of my old sales threads and I had the option to open it again.
I wonder why we can go it in the sales section but not others.

Re: Thread closure button
It's handy for sales thread as you can lock them so people "have" to P.M you. Rather than leave a message on your thread. And you can still re-open it to bump it. Then close it again
