No Pictures in Sales Threads

Not really expecting much of a response to this, but it's something that bugs me - does anyone else get annoyed when no pictures are shown in sales threads ? The first question which is usually asked is 'any pictures mate?' and the usual reply is 'yeah, check this link' or 'give me your e-mail and I will send them' - really don't get it, you don't stick your car in the autotrader and say pictures on request - anyway, not going to drone on about this, but just wondered if it bugged anyone else - just think it's laziness.

It bugs loads of us mate, but whenever this gets brought up it gets nowhere as it's felt that to force people to post pictures is too restrictive.

Posting on a sales thread asking for pictures when it says by PM or none is sales spam and will lead to warnings.

I've moved this to forum feedback, but if it turns into a flame thread it will be removed.

I agree , It grinds my gears also

It requires what ? 30 seconds to upload the picture onto image shack =/

Lazy sellers to be honest , And every one has a phone that can take pictures and upload them some how so there is no real excuse unless you are lonely individual who has no need for a phone :P

See one of the more genuine issues is some users dont know how to upload pictures and link them in etc or have a camera to take pics, Whenever I have sold stuff I have to use my old n95 as I dont have a decent digital camera any more.

Unfortunately we can't force users to post pictures in threads, you can PM the user and ask for them. If it doesn't have pictures in the thread and says it has no pictures then simply avoid the thread and don't buy the gun, simple as really, its the same principle as people not buying a gun because it doesn't come with a battery.

You'd be surprised just how many threads I've come across where people say they don't have a camera.

Another one that gets me is where people are reluctant to post pics because "we all know what a xxxxxx looks like..."
Indeed we do, but we don't know what YOUR xxxxxx looks like, and for all we know it could be snapped in half!

Indeed we do, but we don't know what YOUR xxxxxx looks like, and for all we know it could be snapped in half!

DEFINITELY! a small crack could be a small crack in the right place for it to self destruct at the first skirmish

If you've put as much effort into your sales thread as you can - which you should be doing anyway - then are pictures a necessity? People that will have dealt with me will always know that my items "come as described" and sometimes I've sold things without pictures and not had any fuss.

Again, you cannot force people to take pictures but at the end of the day, I think the point Aribos makes is exact: if you're not going to be given pictures, and you're unsure, avoid the seller/ that sale.

as much as i would agree with that on something like the bay or another online seller i dont really agree on here im currently looking for a scar and at the moment theres very slim pickings for what i really want and when someone doesnt have pictures i cant just avoid it because theres nothing else there i agree with that statement whens theres loads of things available. but unfortunately on here theres sometimes very little to choose from (which im not complaining about may i just say)

Well mate, I'm afraid that if the "limited pickings" are more of a priority than dealing with people that could rip you off, putting you through all that carry-on, fair enough.

But for me, if I don't trust a seller or sales thread, I'll avoid. Had enough crap in my (not so long) time on here!

If anything, you're more likely to rip yourself off with pictures in a thread.

If I'm buying something and I can't see pictures of it I ask far more questions than if I can look at some snaps. In the past, I bought a used s-system which looked OK (and in reality it was a very solid and reliable piece of kit), but I hadn't noticed the little trace of green in one of the pictures and didn't think to ask if it was ex-2 tone. As I was playing at dragon valley back then, the gun was useless for me as they don't allow converted IFs.

I have to admit that i didn't post pictures in my early days of trading, but this wass down to several reasons, one of which was that i didn't have a digi camera.
When i finally did get one, i didn't know how to post a pic. I do now, and my sales threads have pics posted.
I don't generally lose any sleep over wether a trader has posted pics or not.
