new classified section
16 April, 2011, 10:21
nice to see that an effort has been made to revamp it....but the categories suggested are a bit unusual, or unorthordox....it could start with three main sections, gas, electric and spring, and then sub-divided, but i suppose its easier to have the spring rifles together, shotguns together etc regardless of firing mechs

Yeah, I can see a lot of people sticking their pistols in the Blowback Section.

Re: Another gun for sale classfield.
Bullpup is the only sub category for a rifle/smg that I can think of that is clear cut enough to create a category for.
I did think about 7.62 etc, however a lot of people don't know the real world type of rifle they own.
Are there any other clear cut classifications of rifles that can help categorise that sale section?
Edit: Just an F.Y.I, the new sections are on a trial basis, if it doesn't work well/properly then they will be merged back.

Re: new classified section
Erm... what?
Seems like a lot of intrusive maintainance to me, if it aint broke dont fix it. The new layout if horrible and why does bullpup need its own section? Its still an AEG assault rifle isnt it?
What was wrong with "AEGs - Pistols - Sniper Rifles - Support - Other"? Personally I think it was better left as it is, perhaps the only possible change needed was to clear up "other" and have a shotgun section and a seperate launcher section?

Re: new classified section
I agree, I think the aeg sub sections are a bit unnecessary.
I think the GBB rifle/smg is a good shout though seeing as they are becoming more popular though.
Perhaps the pistol section can have a sub catergory like the rifle section with GBB and AEP?

Re: new classified section
Simples,
AEG's
GBB'S
Spring
They are the only three categories you need rather than hashing it up like it is now.
But then that does mean that people would have to look & search for things themsleves rather than being spoonfed.

Re: new classified section
The system doesn't have to be broken to require change, this forum is ever growing and the classifieds section is by far the biggest section, a lot of users were getting confused as to where to list certain items, so I had a look and came up with that. I am not sure I like it as it stands at the moment, however, I am and will be thinking and looking at it until I am happy with it.
I do like the idea of categorising the "Rifles & SMG's" section to AEG, GBB, EBB, NBB, Spring, it might work better. What say you?

With bull pup not many new players would know what it means... I think gbb, nbb etc would be good.

Re: new classified section
As i say just list three catergories in the manner of which they work,
AEG, Spring & GBB. It's so easy then if you are looking for a batt powered RIf AEG's is your location to look in. If your after a gas powered RIF then the GBB section & so on.

Yeah definitely along those lines...
Perhaps to reduce the number of categories:
Rifles:
Electric
Gas
Pistols:
Gas
Electric

Re: new classified section
They would be a subcategories in the rifles section. To simply only have those would make it very hard to find anything.
The idea is to help segregate some of the new listings helping you all find and sell items easier.
