Search problem
26 April, 2011, 21:04
Is anyone else having any problems with the search function? Trying to dig up some info on PEQ boxes but keep getting
Sorry, no results were found. This forum requires a 4 character minimum search. Please use an asterisk(s) * to make up the required number. Examples MP5* or M4**
Ive tried using the asterisk but still nothing.

Re: Search problem
Bumping thread. I want to search for anything L96 related. I have to put in L96* and it returns 0 results. Just reduce the stupid minimum 4 letter limit, please. Anything m4, p90, l96 related... nope manually trawl through the threads yourself.... ARGH

Re: Search problem
i've been having that problem for quite a while now, i don't mind the constant sifting through threads, just bugs me because it takes a long time, and i tend to miss things that might be what i'm looking for

I'm trying to find a video someone posted of some SBS guys in trenchcoats a little while ago but it won't accept SBS even with the asterixes!

Will never happen. If they did, it would mean that words like 'the', 'and', 'two' get indexed in the search database and as a result you get a forum that crawls at a snail's pace.
Much better would be for the Admins to add common searches to the exceptions list i.e. MP5, M16 etc.
Doubt even that will happen though.

Re: Search problem
I have been having problems with the advanced search function, for example if I type in VSR* into the search bar it works fine and I can see one in the classifieds section, but if I then go to advanced search and specify which section to search in and use the same search term I get nothing :'(

That's because they time out after a period of time

Re: Search problem
The asterix function seems to hate me, quite unfortunate with an ICS M16.
