As above sold threads are meant to be closed by the seller.

So what do you do then? Report the thread? just out of curiosity.

Yeah, reporting posts isn't an unecessary evil, sometimes it's just an easier way of alerting a mod to an issue.

Re: Sold items still listed
The way i do it is, Thread open- its still for sale. Thread colsed- its sold.
However i know what you mean when the last post reads "SOLD mods please close" When its been made clear you can close your own threads

We do close them when we see them, but we don't always see them

Re: Sold items still listed
Perhaps I'm wrong, but doesn't the OP mean that he thinks the whole thread should be removed by the mods altogether? In other words you wouldn't be able to see it at all, not just see it and then scroll down and see 'SOLD.'

Yes thats what i thought the OP ment.
I guess the reason the whole thread is not removed is so their is some evidence of the sale in case things go wrong.
For example i buy what is an M4 from a sales thread. After purchasing the item i actually recieve a mp5. To bad for me the threads been delete so I can prove i actually paid for an M4.
But in affect I think sales over a certain time period should be removed if sold. Say after 2 months.

Or even moved to a hidden forum after that amount of time so it's out of view to all but mods & admin. Then if a problem arises, the mods can be contacted and the thread can be moved back for said parties.
Something like that, lol

This is indeed the case, and there's already a thread about it here:
http://www.zeroin.co.uk/showthread.php?t=117820
Threads are removed after a period of time, but remain closed in the meantime incase of dispute. Infact one springs to mind recently where someone was sold a brand new 8mm gearbox and it turned out to be a used 7mm gearbox. Now, AFAIK this was all resolved amicably, but it does give both parties (and us) visibility of what was advertised. This (along with people not being able to edit their original post after 9 minutes) is the reason it's done.

Re: Sold items still listed
Good stuff, makes sense to do that. That way the mods are always aware of when anything gets to that stage in a dispute.
