Closed sales and swaps threads
23 February, 2012, 19:26
Recently i have been getting loads of messages asking if i still have certain items for sale or swap that had the last post as sold and where marked as sold/closed. Two of these have been from over a month ago. Is there any way to put a feature in that delete's a thread once is it marked as sold?

Re: Closed sales and swaps threads
There is nothing setup that removes threads automatically after x days, it used to be done manually by Sci Fi Steve. I have attempted to prune them from time to time, though I will admit, it's easy to forget to do it some times.

Fair enough, maybee a function so the poster could delete their own sales thread would be good, and save you guys time?

Re: Closed sales and swaps threads
That will never happen as it would cause problems with disputes.

Re: Closed sales and swaps threads
Just a shame people can't seem to work out sold a month ago doesn't mean you still have another one laying around. Cheers for the answers though.

Leaving threads is good for Zero In/One's SEO.

Re: Closed sales and swaps threads
I have had this problem two when I have listed an item sold. I once had a guy try to buy two AKs that I had sold over three months previously. What is worst, he didn't seem to believe me that it had been marked sold so I told him to check again.

Re: Closed sales and swaps threads
It happened to me not just here but on other forums as well. I think saying SOLD! then closing the thread is not enought the OP need to do more...
Forum ferret is also annoyed by this and will hunt down these offenders:

Re: Closed sales and swaps threads
And if an item is sold, do people have to wait the three days to say its sold?

If you read the forum rules, you'd notice this

You can find the option in the 'Thread Tools' drop down near the top of the page, then click 'Mark this Thread as Sold'

Re: Closed sales and swaps threads
I think the problem could be that they are using tapatalk and thus don't see the strike out, but they should at least notice the locked symbol.
I will attempt to keep more of a routine of cleaning the classifieds. If I use the inbuilt mass remove tool, I will simply select all classifieds to remove threads over 31 days with no reply, otherwise it takes too long to select individual sections, and that's when mistakes are made.

Re: Closed sales and swaps threads
if everyone posted pictures in their sales threads (as they should!), then they could also amend the picture with a big
