Camo Ideas
24 November, 2009, 16:12
Hi guys,
I was doing a little net trawling and came across this website:
http://www.kamouflage.net/
It's a great little directory of camo, it's listed by nation and provides a little background information on each pattern along with a sample of the pattern. It's great for those who are fed up of dpms and digi-cam but don't know what else is availible.

Yup, this is killer. Thanks for finding that, i'm intent on reading the whole site now! Possibly the most detailed infomation on types and patterns of camo on the net.
EDIT: I didn't know Ruskies had a interest and used Brit DPM!

Re: Camo Ideas
Not a fan of American camo are they. Nice to know British DPM is so highly rated, bu there is quite a lot of conflicting articles about digital camo.

Bugger.
I want some of the cam the Portuguese marines use, but I've never been able to find what it's officially called. No mention of Portugal on the site at all.

This the one?

Lizard Pattern apparantly. Similar to the French lizard pattern.
I've come across it before because I think the French camo is kinda cool.

Re: Camo Ideas
Seen kamouflage before, good site and has reference pics for a lot of nations when you refresh the page. Have also seen that Portugese stuff before and I agree with intervention in calling it lizard pattern.
However Im pretty sure lizard pattern is 1953ish time period camo, so best of luck finding any!
edit: Closest looking job I can think of is ruskie Raster camo, still quite rare.

Re: Camo Ideas
Ya did a bit of research into it myself a while back (using kamouflage actually...) ad was shocked as I was looking a set myself... Ah well have had to give up on that.
As regards the site is pretty nifty but can be a little hard to navigate when looking for a particular kind of camo, lack of a search bar is infuriating

Re: Camo Ideas
yeah I agree it needs to have it's layout sorted out and a search function added. It would also be nice to be able to sort the patterns to how you want to see them beyond country (i.e. era, environment etc)

Digital camo is good but is very area specific, each region around the world require a specific digital pattern to be effective. This is why the American Airforce has not adopted digital ACU for its uniforms.
