Face protection
10 December, 2009, 12:58
Hi Guys,
Thought I would start a new thread re face protection.
I've recently changed my loadout. I previously wore my dye invision goggle system / mask with my flecktarn hoodie / jacket, but I've switched to UK camo now and I'm wanting to wear a bush hat (both for looks and practicality). I also want to be able to use my scope a bit better (was very akward with a mask that sits away from my face).
Now I know most people wear tactical goggles, but are they really that safe on their own? Coming over from paintball I've always thought full face protection was required (don't want anything going in my eyes, mouth, ears, nose etc!) I'm not worried about getting hit on the cheeks / face but as long as my face is protected.
How many people here wear full face protection and how many opt with goggles / shades? I've heard stories about people getting teeth knocked out etc, in reality what are the risks of just wearing a hat and shades/goggles and has anyone ever had any issues?
My local site it woodland, so shots 'tend' to be fairly distant (although there are bunkers etc for some CQB).
Cheers,
Steve
PS any recomdations on good goggles / shades?

Re: Face protection
Tokyo Marui or ACM Pro goggles every time. Failing that, Sensai SG5 mesh mask.

Re: Face protection
Ordered up some Bolle trackers in the end as they press against the face and are supported with elastic.
Going to get a half mask to cover my mouth now
