Having airsofters prance around with guns wearing Nazi uniforms will do lot of damage to our sport regardless of motives- people in general will very simply not understand.

For that reason NO- please don't do it. Bad publicity will only very much reinforce any irrational argument put forward to ban Airsoft.

Even WW2 re-enactments will never be understood in an Airsoft context. re-enactments in context of formal shows or re-enactment societies are the acceptable face of wearing war memorabilia. Airsoft does not have any such status when it comes to wearing NAZI uniforms.

It's not a question of right or wrong. I know a lot of the posts on this thread discuss right or wrong.

the point is that It's public perception. The public in general will not understand. The press will have a field day and the victim will be our sport.

It is a matter of perception. Most people (I hope) would frown upon the use of a uniform that caused so many atrocities.

I for one would not even consider wearing the uniform irrespective of how cool it looks.

Mind you I expect the younger members of the forum probably don't know about such things so they would say it was ok.

It would be on the lines a dressing up as a terrorist with a shemagh round your head and vest with wires hanging out...It's just plain wrong...

Agreed. This is when good taste and common sense is needed.

Airsoft is not about historical re-enactment per se, its about simulating military combat. Each has its place and associated context.

No it is not cool. That is the whole point of the debate. The public through taste and decency would come down on this like a ton of bricks. You can be as historically acurate as you like but the SS are hated by many still as a symbol of a war of attrocities by invading forces.

Stormtroopers are cool. not the SS, hence the quote of the starwars bit and not the rest.

Seriously, you need to enrol with at http://www.kompanie1.co.uk/ and do your cool Nazi look there but please don't pollute our sport by saying you're an airsofter dressed in Nazi gear.

We have enough issues with nutters and criminals using and abusing Airsoft replicas. Adding Nazi antics/ images (as a newspaper would certainly portray us as) would be a serious nail in the coffin for Airsoft.

Taste and common sense. The key word is however 'Common'- i.e. people collectively and generally abhor anything Nazi unless it's appears in a re-enactment/ historical context such as a living history event or in a Museum.

Associating a sport with nazi symbolism (e.g. Uniforms) will 100% harm the sport.
