MICH 2001 Helmet Cover ?
1 January, 2013, 10:36
I know that links are not allowed so please don't up any on the post as you will get in trouble but this is my question.....
I have a MICH2001 helmet with the side rails that I use for my Roam video camera (like the picture below)
I have a DPM loadout for outside and was looking to get some sort of DPM/woodland cover for it but have had no luck. Would anyone have one or know that they are available or even know of a "HOW TO" ?
I will post this up in the WANTED section too as I am also wanting one if anyone has one so please don't slay me down for double posting.

Re: MICH 2001 Helmet Cover ?
why not try spray painting? play around and see what results
i have a SF helmet (one you got pictured) which was flat OD. spray painted it tan and it looks pretty nice
only other thing i can think of is get an old DPM smock, remove the helmets arc rails and vas shroud, place the smock over your helmet, make some holes where the rail/shroud screws are and screw it on
trim away the excess and sorted. i dont know how this may turn out though, may look better in my head

Very app !
I left out some important information that I suppose I should have put in
I want to use the helmet for my black FBI loadout that I also use so it needs to be something that is removable

Re: MICH 2001 Helmet Cover ?
heh, yeah i thought id put that there, case it turns out crap and i get the blame
seeing as you wanna use the helmet for other purposes, then id say try my 2nd option
if it does look naff, then all youve lost is an old smock

Re: MICH 2001 Helmet Cover ?
I'm doing the same soon, but using a mich 2002 as they have a similar shape to the British MK6 lids.
I am planning on buying a MK6 DPM cover, trimming it down as it requires, turn over the edges and stitch to prevent future fraying.
I will then use sniper tape (search for it) to seal the cover around the edges of the helmet. You can buy olive drab, black and even DPM tape.
could try that!
edit: you'd have to cut out windows in the DPM cover for your VNG/rails etc, then re-seam with stitching.
